Our life is a story. Surely all the wonderful chapters of Jonathan’s life cannot be captured in these few paragraphs, so this is just a small part of Jonathan’s story.
Jonathan was voted by his Kindergarten teacher as the child most likely to let the love of Jesus shine through him. He could make a friend anywhere, and did. He believed that every child no matter their size, age, race, or skill level deserved to know Jesus, and he took seriously the task of praying for them. That belief was never more evident than when Jonathan played sports. He wanted each child to get a fair chance and fostered many true friendships throughout his life on the ball field. He was always there to encourage a player who had struck out—even if they weren’t on his team. When a player was injured, he called his team together to pray. Jonathan certainly let the love of Jesus shine through him in the time he had with us. In 2008 Jonathan’s story ended with a tragic car accident at the age of 10-years old, but it was not without completion. His life had perfect completion as he left this world and entered into the arms of Jesus Christ where he is enjoying the eternal rewards promised to him by his Savior. It’s an ending that Jonathan would want for everyone. So, whether we like it or not, our life is our story, it is being written daily in the choices we make. Ultimately, that story lives on as our legacy. Jonathan’s legacy is that of a faithful friend. It is in that spirit that the Jonathan Foundation was formed. “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for such belongs the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 The Jonathan Foundation is a 100% volunteer, 501(c)(3) service organization dedicated to give hope to children in need. We offer financial support to various children's charities and college scholarships to local High School students. The primary goal of The Jonathan Foundation is to give hope to children in need. Since 2011, The Jonathan Foundation has gifted over $50,000 in community grants, outreach, and student scholarships. We have also invested over $65,000 to ensure the foundation’s future growth and outreach. |
